Our Impact: Stories of Growth and Opportunity
Discover how tailored support, advocacy, and experiences help young people thrive, build confidence, and explore their potential.
Every child we support has a unique journey. Below are examples of how personalised guidance, opportunities, and encouragement have helped children thrive, gain confidence, and explore their potential

Stability & Advocacy
One young person we supported was at risk of being moved far from the school, friends, and trusted adults they had finally begun to feel settled with. Acting on their behalf, we worked closely with carers, school staff, and external agencies to advocate for their needs. Together, we ensured they could remain in their local area, continue their education, and have a guaranteed sixth form place. Additional opportunities, including university visits and short courses, helped them gain confidence and a sense of direction. Through advocacy and stability, what could have been a destabilising experience became a positive step forward.
Aspirations & Opportunity
A young person we worked with wanted to explore practical career paths but didn’t know where to start. We arranged work experience in industries like electrical installation and gardening, alongside workshops and short courses matching their interests. For several unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people in similar situations, we supported ESOL applications, attended college open evenings with them, and helped ensure their placements were stable and safe. With tailored guidance and encouragement, each young person gained confidence, real-world experience, and a clearer sense of their future.

Confidence, Belonging & Community
A young person we supported had struggled with confidence and found it difficult to take part in new activities or build friendships. We introduced them to gentle workshops and informal careers events with a trusted adult, gradually helping them engage in new experiences. As their confidence grew, we arranged group outings and celebratory activities like bowling or local trips with friends. By offering consistent support and opportunities aligned with their pace, they became more settled, connected, and ready to take the next steps in their journey.
Transitions & Stability
One young person was approaching a major school transition and was anxious about leaving behind the familiarity they had built. We created a gradual transition plan with school staff, carers, and external agencies, including visits to the new setting, meeting key staff in advance, and adjusting entry requirements to provide continuity. Through reassurance, advocacy, and practical guidance, they started their new stage of education with confidence, turning what could have been a difficult change into a positive, stable experience.
